Just a quick update for the past couple of weeks. August 9th I managed to take down 1st place money of $1,200 at Diamond Jim's Casino in Rosamond. I consider it a great effort on my part mainly because I didn't even win a pot for the first 3 rounds of the Tournament! I managed to amass a great amount of chips the last half hour of the event, and pounded the table unmercifully! One thing about NLHE is that if you can build up a huge stack, you are nigh well unconquerable....and I was.

I followed up that win by finishing a game 4th in the same T August 16th. This time I took down only $280 for my efforts. It could have been $650, but a player named Johnny didn't want to do a 4 way chop. If fact his Mommy actually came to the table to veto his decision to chop by telling him that he could win it all. The Chip count was Me-144k, Grandmotherly women on my left-132K, Nametag on shirt guy-122k and little Johnny 156K. Of course when we resumed playing I immiediately saw A 6 in the hold and moved in on the button. Johnny, in the BB thought and thought, and finally called me with......A 8. An 8 hit on the flop, and seeya!

I also booked a massive win in the 4-8 Omaha 8 game at Lake Elsinore Casino. I picked up $735 in just 4.5 hours. I had played in a $30 buy in NLHE earlier with no success. I capped off a pretty good 48 hour stretch by picking up that 2K strange.
